SHARPCHARTS 2 BETA 7 TO LAUNCH ON FEBRUARY 1ST - As we mentioned above, the next version of our SharpCharts2 charting tool will appear on February 1st. This version of SharpCharts will give you greater control over your charts and overlays and will allow members to save charts into their accounts. We expect that this will be the last "Beta" release for SharpCharts 2 and that SharpCharts 2 will go into general production soon afterwards.
FUND DISTRIBUTION SEASON - The end of the calendar year is also the time when many mutual funds have distributions. As a technical analysis website, StockCharts.com adjusts its historical price data to eliminate the "artificial" effects that fund distributions have on technical indicators. This is just like how we adjust our historical data to remove the huge gaps caused by stock splits. Without these adjustments, sensitive technical indicators may give false or misleading signals.
Because we adjust our historical data, IT SHOULD NOT BE USED FOR TAX PURPOSES. Mutual Fund owners should consult with their brokerage or fund companies for buy or sell prices on dates in the past.
NEW BOND YIELD DATA - As we mentioned above, we have revamped the datasets that we use with our Dynamic Yield Curve tool. In addition to the 30-year yield, we now track the 1-month, 3-month, 6-month, 1-year, 2-year, 3-Year, 5-year, 7-year, 10-year, and 20-year bond yields. Click here for a list of the ticker symbols for those datasets.
